Join us for the 9:30 am Ascension and Pentecost worship services on Sunday, May 17, and Sunday, May 24.

The Ascension of Our Lord Sunday celebrates the day on which the risen Christ, in the sight of His apostles, ascended bodily into Heaven. Ascension Thursday falls 40 days after Easter. The period from Ascension Thursday through Pentecost Sunday (10 days after Ascension Thursday, and 50 days after Easter) represents the final stretch of the Easter season.

Pentecost celebrates the moment the Holy Spirit moved among Jesus’ followers, sparking the beginning of the church’s mission in the world.

As part of the Pentecost worship service, we invite congregants to wear red in all hues: reds, oranges, pinks, magentas, and/or yellows, to symbolize “tongues of fire” or the spreading of the good news of the Holy Spirit and Jesus’ resurrection.
